Enrolment Contract – 2026

By signing the Enrolment Contract and enroling a Student at Connections High School, Parents are entering into a legally binding agreement with the School. The Terms & Conditions of Enrolment outline the terms of that contract, to which both parties are held. All persons having Parental responsibility for the Student should be aware of and agree to the Student’s enrolment and understand and accept the following Terms & Conditions of Enrolment. By signing the Enrolment Contract and enroling a Student at Connections High School Parents, Carers and Students are subject to the Terms & Conditions of Enrolment as updated from the time to time.

Connections High School has the right to make changes to these Terms & Conditions from time to time, in consultation with the School Community.

Behavioural Expectations & Norms(Required)

I/we agree that –

All Community members are expected to support Students in the School’s values of Belonging, Personal Growth and Being Yourself.

Acceptance, kindness, respect, and dignity should be shown to everyone.

c. All Community members should contribute to providing a safe learning Community and ensure that their actions do not adversely affect the learning, wellbeing, or safety of others.

Failure to uphold the School’s Behavioural Expectations and Norms, or any behaviour of a Student or Family that adversely affects the learning or well-being of other Students may result in suspension or expulsion of the Student and termination of the Enrolment Contract, in line with the School’s Policies.

Attendance(Required)

I/we agree that –

Attendance at School is compulsory for all Students. Connections High School expects regular School attendance, as it builds a sense of belonging, connection, Community, and personal growth. Consistent attendance is also important for ongoing educational learning. The School expects every Student to attend every day, where possible. However, the School understands that there are reasons that a Student may not attend School on a given day. These include, but are not limited to, medical, Family, and cultural reasons. The School also acknowledges the difficulties associated with attendance for some Students and will support Students and Families, as required.

Communication(Required)

I/we agree that –

Connections High School is a learning Community that values of Belonging, Personal Growth and Being Yourself. These values can best be maintained, when Families and the School work together and communicate openly, honestly and respectfully.

Parents/carers will notify the School in a timely manner about any matters that impact on the School fulfilling its duty of care and/or providing for the wellbeing and learning of the Student. This includes any changes to personal details, court orders or medical conditions.

Connections High School will collect personal information and sensitive information about the Student and Families to best support the Student. This information will be collected, stored and used in a manner consistent with relevant Privacy Acts and in accordance with the School’s Privacy Policy. When necessary, and in accordance with relevant Laws, the School may disclose personal and sensitive information to others for administrative and educational purposes, including facilitating the transfer of a Student to another School.

All communication will be sent to the postal or email addresses provided by Families, who are responsible for keeping them up-to-date with the School.

Students’ individual needs(Required)

I/we agree that –

Connections High School addresses the individual needs of all its Students. Enrolment is conditional on the Principal having confidence that the School has the capacity to cater for the needs of all Students.

If the Principal is not confident that the School can meet, or continue to meet, the needs of a Student, the School will discuss options with the Student and their Family. Where it is in the best interests of the Student, or other Students, their enrolment may be terminated. This will be done in line with the School’s Policies and the relevant discrimination Laws.

Health and Safety(Required)

I/we agree that –

Connections High School create a safes and healthy environment for all members of our Community, including Staff, Students and their Families. The School accepts its responsibility in this area during our normal hours of operation, as determined by the Principal, and at School approved events.

While due care will be taken, the School is not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings of Students or their Families.

In the interests of promoting the health and safety of Students and Staff, Parents/Carers are required to ensure that, if Students are not fit and well to attend School, they do not attend School until well enough to do so. This not only protects the unwell Student, but the other Students and Staff, particularly in the case of infectious illnesses.

Fees, levies, and other charges(Required)

I/we agree that –

School fees, levies and other charges are set by the Board each year, to ensure the School has the capacity to meet the wellbeing and educational needs of its Students.

Parents/Carers are responsible for paying all School fees, levies and charges by the due date.

Parents/Carers can pay School fees in either in full, prior to the start of the School year, or via a direct debit on a fortnightly or monthly basis. Fees paid in full will receive a discount.

By accepting an Offer of Enrolment, Parents are acknowledging that the Family can and will pay their fee commitments, when due.

School fees, levies and other charges are a condition of a Student’s enrolment and are payable, regardless of attendance. They are also payable, in the event that the School is required to deliver services in an alternative mode, including online delivery, for any reason. Non-payment of fees and charges may result in the termination of the Student’s enrolment.

All signatories to the Enrolment Contract are jointly and severally liable to pay School fees, levies and other charges. For clarity, this means that the School may choose to take individual recovery action against an individual signatory to this agreement, rather than against all signatories collectively.

Parents/Carers are responsible for payment to repair or replace any School property the Student damages, or contributes to being damaged, due to willful disregard, careless, irresponsible or negligent behaviour, as determined by the Principal.

Withdrawing a Student(Required)

I/we agree that –

Families may withdraw a Student from the School by providing written notice of at least ten (10) term-time weeks. School fees will be payable for ten (10) term-time weeks from the date of notice, whether or not the Student attends the School.

Policies, Procedures & Legals(Required)

I/we agree that –

All members of the School Community are bound by, and expected to operate within, the scope of the School’s Policies & Procedures, as updated from time to time. Policies & Procedures will be published on the School’s website and available in alternative formats, as appropriate on request.

The School provides a safe and inclusive Community and will work with Families to resolve all issues or problems in a way that follows procedural fairness and maintains the dignity of all parties. Where Community members are acting outside the Policies & Procedures and no resolution can be found, this will result in termination of the Enrolment Contract, in line with the School’s Policies.

The signed Enrolment Contract forms the whole agreement between the Parents/carers and the School. The Enrolment Contract as updated from time to time supersedes any previous discussions and agreements.

If a provision of the Enrolment Contract is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining conditions will remain enforceable.

If the School waives a Parent’s obligations under the Enrolment Contract, that forms a standalone waiver and does not change any other obligations, as set out in the Enrolment Contract.

This Agreement is made in the jurisdiction of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

The Terms & Conditions of Enrolment will be published on the school’s website and made available in an appropriate alternate format on request. Terms & Conditions of Enrolment and any material amendments are made in consultation with the school’s Students, Parents and Staff. Any comments or questions regarding the Terms & Conditions should be made to the Principal or the Board Chair.

A non-refundable enrolment fee of $500 is payable with this enrolment form.

A one off family membership fee of $10 is payable on the enrolment of your first child at the School. This is to become a member of Connections High School Ltd and allow voting rights at the Annual General Meeting to appoint the School Board.
